Re: Colchester Zoo
It's better than London Zoo mate.
It's rated as the second best animal attraction in the UK after Chester.
It's quite hilly so you will definitely need the push chair if you have young kids!

It's a great day out, I advise comfortable walking shoes the place is huge and a lot of walking to see everything! The feeding of giraffes and elephants is a good experience too

Re: Colchester Zoo
It is very good.

Don't (DON'T) ever go to Linton Zoo (near Cambridge). It is a shit zoo and not in the small dog way. Fucking awful place.

Re: Colchester Zoo
I went a few years ago and it is well worth it. Miles better than the dated London Zoo. I find London more interesting on account of its age and design and the Berthold Lubetkin architeture just as interesting as the animals themselves. For ease of viewing the animals there is only one winner.

They've both got their merits. I'd visit both.

London Zoo has the added attraction of being near the London Central Mosque

I am struggling to work out what is so unmissably entertaining about elephant and giraffe feeding time. Have they been taught to use chopsticks?

Re: Colchester Zoo
Let's be fair we all go to zoo's to see two things.

Animals fucking.

Animals shitting.

Pretty much it.

Linton zoo is just round the corner from me.

It is the Phoenix Nights of zoos, worth a visit from an ironic perspective.
